(VALLEY) Services for Darryl W. Tankersley, 67, of Valley will be Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, at 2 p.m. EST at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Chapel, Valley, with the Rev. Michael Spikes officiating. Burial will be in Langdale Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 3, from noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Tankersley died Sunday, Dec. 30, at East Alabama Medical Center, Opelika. Born on Nov. 4, 1940, in Langdale to the late Gloria Genelle Duncan Tankersley and Waymon Tankersley, Mr. Tankersley attended Evangel Temple. He was a veteran, having served a tour in the U.S. Navy. He was a retired employee of the Uniroyal Corporation, with 35 years of service with the company. He is survived by his wife, Ellen Tankersley; three daughters, Cynthia Ann Barr of Birmingham and Tammie Lynn Williams and Sandra Kay Spikes of Opelika; six grandchildren; a sister, Dianne Rollins of Roanoke; and three nephews.
