VALLEY - Mrs. Genelle Tankersley, 90, of Valley died Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at Golden Living Center in Lanett.

Funeral services are planned for Thursday, March 22 at 11 a.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley with the Rev. Tim Andrews officiating. Burial will follow at Langdale Cemetery in Valley.

Mrs. Tankersley is survived by one daughter, Diane Rollins of Woodland, Ala.; one son, Darryl (Ellen) Tankersley of Valley; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Vinson of Valley and Ruby Hawkins of Gastonia, N.C.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Tankersley was born Aug. 7, 1916 in Griffin, Ga. She had previously worked for West Point Manufacturing Company and was a retired employee of Opelika Manufacturing Company. Mrs. Tankersley was a member of Valley First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Waymon Tankersley.

The family will receive friends Thursday, March 22 from 10 until 11 a.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
