Obituary - Charles H. Eastburn

Charles Henry Eastburn, 78, of 1319 West Fifth, died Tuesday, October 30, 1973.

He was born August 27, 1895 at Kimbra, Minnesota. He had farmed on the Garfield Table before moving to Arnold in 1936 where he operated a service station until 1949. He was a carpenter until moving to North Platte earlier this month.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 130 of Arnold for 47 years and of the V. F. W. Post 3576 of Broken Bow for 35 years.

Mr. Eastburn attended the First United Methodist Church of Arnold.

Suvivors include his wife, Alta; one son, Thomas R. of Lomita, California; one daughter, Mrs. Merle (Margaret) Congrove of Denver, Colorado; two brothers, Lee of Westminster, Colorado, and David of Loomis, Texas; four sisters, Mrs. Orria Meyer of Faulkton, South Dakota, Mrs. Annie Smith and Mrs. Marinda Smith, both of Seattle, Washington, and Mrs. Helen Vansteeningburg of Alaska; four grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p. m. Friday at the Arnold Methodist Church with the Rev. Willard Scott officiating.

Burial will be in Arnold Cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the Adams and Swanson Funeral Home in North Platte until 10 a.m. Thursday when his remains will be taken to the Quig-Tickle Funeral Home in Arnold until time of services.
