Obituary - Alta V. Eastburn

Alta V. Eastburn, 91, 1319 W. Fifth, died Tuesday in the North Platte Hospital.

She was born at the home of her parents on the Garfield Table in Lincoln County on August 17, 1891. Mrs. Eastburn attended country school and went to high school at North Platte. She was married to Charles Henry Eastburn Sr., on February 14, 1920, and spent one year at Burkmere, South Dakota. They then returned to the Garfield Table and lived on a farm until 1936 when she moved to Arnold. In 1973, she moved to North Platte where she resided since.

Suvivors include one son, Thomas R. Eastburn of Lomita, California; one daughter, Margaret (Mrs.Merle) Congrove of Wheatridge, Colorado; one sister, Mrs. Loreta Carlson of North Platte; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, four brothers and one sister.

Services will be Friday 2 p.m. at the Arnold Methodist Church with the Rev. John Meyer officiating.

Burial will be in the Arnold Cemetery. The casket will not be opened following services. Her remains will lie in state from 10 a.m. Friday until time of services at the
Arnold Methodist Church.

A memorial has been established to the Arnold American Legion Post No. 130.

Adams and Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
