David Mark Ashcraft, 48, Rose Ave., North View edition of Clarksburg, passed away unexpectedly Thursday afternoon, July 19, 2007 at his residence. He was born March 29, 1959 in Clarksburg, a son of Betty Graves Ashcraft who survives him in Clarksburg and the late Delmer Ashcraft.

David is survived by his two sons and their spouses, Joshua Mark Ashcraft, his wife Amber and his newborn granddaughter Eden Rachel Ashcraft, and Caleb David Ashcraft and his wife Jessica all of Clarksburg; three siblings and their spouses, Cheryl Goodwin and her husband Bill, Rickey Ashcraft and his wife Linda and Judy Hayes and her husband Jeff "Bo" all of the Clarksburg area, as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenton Ashcraft and Chris Ashcraft, and one sister Dian Ashcraft.

David was a graduate of Liberty High School. He was a self-employed painter for many years and was currently the manager of the Ashcraft Mobile Home Park. He enjoyed playing baseball in his younger years as well as fishing.

He attended the Word of Life Assembly of God on Sun Valley Rd. in Clarksburg and always seemed to be at his best when he spoke of the Bible and its teachings to other people. He was a great storyteller – particularly of all of his life's experiences.

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Ave., Bridgeport from Noon – 2:00 PM on Monday, July 23, 2007. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM in the funeral home with Pastor George Mesto presiding. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Quiet Dell.

His mother wrote Obituary and would not include his surviving ex wife Lucetta Williams.
