Luvada Dickinson Little, 87, left this life for her heavenly home on Thursday, April 9, 2009, after a two-year illness.
Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Monday in Greenwood Chapel.
Interment: Grandview Cemetery.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood Funeral Home.

Born Jan. 8, 1922, on a farm on Mastin Lane, near Grandview, in Johnson County to J.E. "Ras" and Emmie Dickinson, she graduated from Abbott High School in 1939 as class president and valedictorian. At 17, she moved to Denton for college at North Texas State Teachers College, now UNT, graduating in 1943 with a bachelor's degree in business education and English and a teaching certificate. She married Dan Truman Little of McKinney in 1946. Through the years, she held several office and professional positions, teaching in Fort Worth public schools, and completing her career as office manager and secretary-treasurer of Charlie Mann Displays, a local advertising firm, until her retirement in 1987.
She was a member of Overton Park United Methodist Church, now Arborlawn United Methodist Church, for nearly 60 years and was active in Baker-Burns Sunday School Class, United Methodist Women, Christian Social Involvement and Merrymakers Group until her illness prevented it.
The family would like to thank Dr. Henry Xiong, Dr. Travis Thompson, the staff of the Center for Cancer & Blood Disorders, and Home Instead Senior Care, with special thanks to Marilyn and Ashley for the loving care that mother received during her illness.
Mrs. Little was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Truman Little, on June 8, 1985.
Survivors: Daughter, Dana Lou Thompson and husband, Bruce; grandson, Travis L. Thompson, M.D., and wife, Shelley; and great-grandsons, Truman Cash Thompson and Tripp William Thompson.
