He was born March 14, 1929 at Hackett, Arkansas, the son of Earl Leonard and Ethel Emma (Copeland) Newberry.
He was a truck driver for many years before he established his own carpentry business (Cliff's Remodeling) which he operated until his retirement in 1991.
He was a member of the Fayetteville Baptist Church.
He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Clarence Newberry and Kenneth Ray Newberry.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ina Mae (Johnson) Newberry; two sons, Dale E. Newberry (and wife, Nita) of Brentwood and Thomas E. Newberry (and wife, Carmen) of Fayetteville; a granddaughter, Tamera Wise of Eastland, Texas; a grandson, Martin Newberry of Fayetteville; a step-granddaughter, Jodi Wooley of Rogers; and four Great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5:00 -7:00 p.m., Monday, September 15, 2008 at Moore's Chapel.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at Moore' Chapel with the Rev. George Boatright and the Rev. Darren Rogers officiating.
Burial will be in Kings Cemetery, east of Fayetteville.
