born Feb 17, 1937 in Wilmington. 49 of, 192 Trinity Church Road, died Tuesday August 12, 1986. in Christiana Hospital of Complication after heart surgery june 20. Mr. Carter was an insulator with Delaware Insulation in Wilmington, Del. for 25 years. He was a member of Heat & Frost Insulators Union. Local 42. He retired in 1977. He attended St. Matthew's Catholic School and was a 1955 graduate of Salesianum in Wilmington. He is survived by his wife, Joan C; a son, Edwin M. of Newport, Del.; three daughters, Karen Schnee of West Chester, Pa.; Kathleen Crossan of Lincoln University, Pa.; and Lori Ann Carter of New Castle, Del.; two stepsons, Robert A. Mort of Huntington, Pa., and Michael Annand of Newark, Del.; four step daughters, Terry Baker. Carol Paoletti, Sherry Mort and Velvet Annand. all of New Castle; his parents, Edwin W. and Hattie A. Carter both of Hockessin, Del.; three brothers, Thomas W. of Wilmington, John P. of Milford, and Arthur W. of Middletown; four grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Matthew's Catholic Church, Woodcrest, Wilmington. Friends may call Friday night from 7 to 9 p.m. at Mealey Funeral Home, Limestone and Milltown roads. Burial will be in Cathedral Cemetery. Lancaster Ave. Wilmington.
