OLD FORT- Clyde T. Peek Sr., 84. of Old Highway 70, died Saturday, April 8, 2000 in Autumn Care Nursing Home.
He was born in Mayo, S.C., to the late Ben and Elsie Clark Peek. He was a retired employee of Beacon Manufacturing Company with 30 years of service and attended Piney Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by one brother, James Peek, and one sister, Louise Blalock.
Survivors include his wife, Nola Banks Peek; two sons, Ben Peek of Sylvania, Ga. and Clyde Peek Jr. and his wife Shirley of Marion; two daughters, Barbara Souther and her husband Don of Belton, S.C. and Carolyn June Peek of the home; one sister Beverly Peek Buckner of Spartanburg, S.C.; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and a number of nephews and nieces.
The funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday at Piney Grove Baptist Church. The Revs. Jack Thomas and Milton Hollifield will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services.
