She spend most of her life in Fountain County. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Veedersburg and was very active in church and community affairs. She enjoyed quilt making and gardening. She was a school teacher and later was a house-mother in a children's home.
Surviving are: one son, David N. Young, LaPorte; one daughter, Louise Doyle, Washington, Indiana; one brother, Cecil Day; three sisters, Anna Bingham, Blanche Wood, Belle Gaines, all of Dexter, Missouri; 13 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Paul and John.
Funeral services will be held at the Dickerson Funeral Home, Veedersburg, at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Don Wiltfong officiating. Burial will be at Lower Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church, Veedersburg." – Star Tribune, September 13, 1991
