First Lieutenant Anton Leonard Bloemhard was a casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Army Reserve, 1LT Bloemhard served our country until February 24th, 1968 in Quang Nagai, South Vietnam. He was 32 years old and was married. It was reported that Anton died from small arms fire or grenade. His body was recovered. Anton was born on March 12th, 1935 in Great Neck, New York. 1LT Bloemhard is on panel 41E, line 006 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for 10 years.

He served with Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment, "Cacti Forever", 4th Infantry Division, USARV.
The decorations earned by 1LT Anton Leonard Bloemhard include: the Combat Infantryman's Badge(CIB), The Bronze Star Medal for Meritorous Service, The Purple Heart Medal, The National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm Unit Citation.
