Funeral services for Oswald M. Donkle, 77, of 702 Leonard St., school crossing guard and longtime active Masonic member In Madison who died Tuesday of a heart attack at his home, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist church with the Rev. Charles R Bell, Jr., officiating. Burial will be In the Cottage Grove cemetery where grave side services will be conducted by the Commonwealth Lodge No. 325.
Mr. Donkle collapsed while eating breakfast with his wife. He was sped by police ambulance to a hospital, but pronounced dead on arrival. Acting Coroner Norman Anderson said no inquest will be held.
He had been the school crossing guard at Commonwealth ave. and Monroe st. for many years. Mr. Donkle was born in Verona and was with the Madison Buick Co. before operating a hardware store on Monroe st. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Commonwealth Lodge, the Madison Consistory, and the Scottish Rite Bodies.
Surviving is his wife, Maggie two sons, Melvin C., Williamsport, Pa., and Wilson H., Madison: one brother, C. M Donkle, Madison, and four grandchildren
