Services Today For Jim Fowler

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today for James L. (Jim) Fowler, 53, who died yesterday at his home, 503 Randolph street, following a lengthy illness.

Services were held from Laughlin-Service funeral chapel, with the Rev. J. J. Milford conducting. Interment was in Maple Hill cemetery.

Mr. Fowler was born in Giles County, Tennessee, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Fowler. He was a merchant at Ardmore, later coming to Huntsville with Fowler Bros. store. For the past several years, he has been connected with Fowler and Chaney. He has been a salesman for 30 years.

Mr. Fowler is survived by his wife; one son, Nelson Parrish, Jr,; one daughter, Betty Parrish; one brother, William M. Fowler; two sisters, Mrs. J. F. Gatlin of Ardmore and Mrs. Rosie Eaves of Toney.

Active pallbearers were Ralph Terry, Dr. G. B. Crowley, Minor Magaha, John Reynolds, Guy Sublett, O. G. Pitts, Jr., Roy Sublett and J. L. Anderson.

Honorary pallbearers included Dr. C. A. Grote, Dr. E. A. Adams. Clarence Beasley, Frank Walker, Joe Damson, Norris Payne, P. S. Dunnavant. Jim Terry, E. Kaufman Jim Patterson, Jud Patterson, M. E. Miller, John Lowe, Willis Kennamer and John O. Fowler.
