Robert D. "Bob" Walker, 80 of Rosedale died at 1:23 PM Friday, Nov. 7, 2003 in Union Hospital at Terre Haute.

He was a retired boilermaker.

He was born Nov. 18, 1922 in Vigo County, Indiana to the late Jack Walker and to Charlotte Boltz Walker.

Survivors include his wife Martha Archer Walker whom he married on Nov. 26, 1948. Also surviving are two sons, Mark A. Walker and his wife Cynthia R. Walker of Terre Haute, and Benjamin D. Walker and his wife Cindy Jo Giuliano of Terre Haute; one brother, William Walker of West Terre Haute; four grandchildren, Benjamin Darrell Walker II, Andrew L. Walker, Erin Renolds, Amelia R. Walker; one great-grandson, Cayden L. Walker.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, John George Walker in 1968 and James Edward Walker in 2000.
He was a graduate of Gertsmeyer High School in Terre Haute. He was a member of Rosedale Masonic Lodge # 259. He was an Army Veteran of WWII serving in the Battle of the Bulge and participated in D Day. He received the American Theater Ribbon, EAME Theater Ribbon with five bronze stars, a Good Conduct Ribbon and a WWII Victory Medal. He had been employed by Terre Haute Boiler Works, and was a millwright for Weston Paper Products Company. After retirement he worked 10 years for Hills Department Store at Plaza North Shopping Center.

Services are 1:00 PM Monday Nov. 10, 2003 in Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home at 221 Main St in Rosedale, with the Rev. Ron Peterson officiating. Burial is in Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery in North Terre Haute with military graveside honors. Visitation is from 4-8 PM on Sunday at Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home, and before services on Monday.
