Douglas, the eleven year old son of Eldon A. and Donna F. Sorenson, of Delta, died Friday night in the hospital in Salt Lake City, following a short illness. His life has been spent in Delta, where he attended school. He is survived by his parents and one sister, Carol Dawn and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Finlinson of Oak City and M.A. Sorenson of Manti. He was a boy of bright promise, talented and loving and the deep sympathy of their many friends here is with the family in their loss. Funeral services were conducted in the Delta First Ward on Tuesday at 12 noon by Bishop Wallace Jeffery. The opening number was a selection from the Delta First Ward Choir "Some Time We'll Understand" followed by prayer by Pres. Leo Lyman. A tribute to Douglas composed by Thelma Seegmiller, was read by Kay Gardner with piano accompaniment by Gladys Fullmer. June W. Black, Bishop of Delta Second Ward, was the first speaker followed by "In the Garden" by the ladies trio Ora Gardner, Thelma Black and Norma Hannifin. Bishop T. Kem. Memmott of Bountiful was a speaker whose talk was followed by "Look to the Comforter" by a girls chorus, friends of Carol Dawn Sorenson's, directed by Gertrude Western and piano by Gladys Fullmer. The following speaker was M. J. Pack, member of the presidency of South Sanpete Stake. An organ solo was played by Mrs. Louise Adams, a selection of songs Douglas had loved to sing. Closing remarks were made by Bishop Wallace Jeffery followed by "My Father Knows" by the choir. The closing prayer was offered by Evan G. Gardner. Burial was in the Manti cemetery, under the direction of L.N. Nickle and Sons. The grave was dedicated by Gervin Stott, of the Manti North Ward.
