Burnsville, N.C. - Paul S. Banks, 86, of the Banks Creek Community, passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2008, at his home.
A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late Hugh J. and Belle McMahan Banks. He was a World War II U.S. Marine Veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Icie Aldridge Banks; two sons, Marvin Ray Banks and Paul Stanley Banks; and a daughter, Janice Boone, all of Burnsville; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and, several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be at 8 p.m. Thursday in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home. The Rev. Sherrill Whitson will officiate. The graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Banks Cemetery on Banks Creek.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
