Isaac Wilson was my Great Grandpa.
Issac was born Oct. 17,1843 in Yellville,Marion Co.,Arkansas to Thomas Croucher and Elizabeth Perryman Hudson.As a young man he moved with his parents to Barry Co.,Mo. In Aug. of 1862 he enlisted in the Union Army and was made a Trumpeter in Company "L" First Regiment of the Arkansas Cavalry Volunteers under the Command of Capt.Thomas Brooks.
He was discharged in Aug. of 1865 and nine months later on May 19,1866 married his first wife Elizabeth Powers. They had three children together. Mary J. born 1862; Elizabeth Angeline (Betsy-Bette)#105783621; and Thomas Sim #54553368. After being discharged from the Army he became a teacher at Rock Creek in Barry County,Missouri.
About 1878 he married his second wife,Catherine Stevens/Stephens (spelling varies with Census years 1850-1880) and they had eight children; LaVada Lou #30595728; Isaac "Ike"#13717792;John B.#30573070;Monroe Jefferson #32051686(my Grandpa);Sarah May born May 1886;Caldona Tabor #44720779;Leona #30602535 and William(Bill)#30573140. Isaac died July 19,1932 and is buried at the Peel Cemetery in Peel,Arkansas with a headstone that says, "TRUMPETER ISAAC HUDSON CO. L 1 ARK CAV"
