Patricia A. Dean, 66, of Amarillo died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Amarillo South Church with the Rev. Jerry Brinkman, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Elmwood Cemetery in Woodward, Okla., by Cox-LaGrone Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.

Pat was born Oct. 30, 1941, in Canadian to Clarence and Myrtle Eller. She married Marvin Edward Dean on Sept. 19, 1970, in Amarillo.

Pat was a member of Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church for more than 20 years. She made her career as a homemaker. Pat was a coach for Kids, Inc. and coached girls basketball as well as cheerleading. She also coached cheerleading for the girls at Alamo Catholic High School, where she sat on the board of directors.

Pat volunteered at her church and also for the Catholic school system. Pat was an awesome cook who will leave behind a legacy of home-cooked recipes. The recipe she is most famous for is her cream gravy and cornbread stuffing at Thanksgiving. Pat raised four kids and everybody else's too, because her house always had an open door and a place at the table. She was a woman with class and dignity who never met a stranger. She was always generous and eager to lend a hand. Pat touched many lives and will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin Edward Dean; three brothers, James Elmer Eller, Bobby Allen Eller and Billy Clarence Eller; and two sisters, Mary Lou Walker and Ruth Irene Bates.

Survivors include two sons, Allen Douglas Dean and companion Gerald Carter and Perry Mark Broadie, all of Amarillo; two daughters, Jenifer Lynn Dean-Sims and husband Simon of Canyon and Lori Stimpson and husband Jason of Amarillo; two sisters-in-law, Laquita Eller of Woodward and Margaret Eller of Amarillo; two granddaughters, Katherine Colette Dean and Emily Christine Stimpson; two grandsons, Alexander Dean Stimpson and William Edward Sims; and two dear friends, Pat Stich and Dorothy Chapman, both of Amarillo.

The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice and Life Enrichment Center, P.O. Box 950 Amarillo, TX 79105.

The family will receive friends at 8508 Little Rock Drive.
