He was born in Crawford County May 4, 1923 to Herbert and Rosa (Laipply) Aurand, both deceased. Aurand was preceded in death by his wife, Gerti (Ward) Aurand, Nov. 1, 1974. They were married Sept. 16 1950.
One daughter survives, Mrs. Carl (Barbara) Lohr, and two sons, Lonnie W. Aurand and Steven R. Aurand, both of rural Sycamore, along with seven grandchildren.
Aurand is survived by three brothers, Calvin Aurand, Republic, Robert D. Aurand, rural Sycamore, and Alvin Aurand, rural Sycamore, and three sisters, Mrs. Robert (Ethel) Dickerson, Bucyrus, Mrs. Carl (Marilyn) Farrow, Ontario, and Mrs. Harold (Thelma) Jump, rural Sycamore.
Aurand was a lifetime resident of Crawford County and worked at Swan Rubber in Bucyrus for 32 years. He was a member of the Moose Lodge No. 669, Eagles Lodge No. 501, both of Bucyrus, and the Lemert United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m Tuesday at the Walton-Moore Funeral Home in Sycamore with Rev. William Fox officiating. Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery in Crawford County.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today. Moose ritual services will be held at 6:45 p.m. Monday. Memorials may be made to the Crawford County Cancer Society.∼Son of Reuben H Aurand and Evelyn Parkinson Aurand.
