Alexander died 28 Jan 1883 and is buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery near Mantee, Webster County, Mississippi. Their children were: Rosa Belle, who maried Robert Pleasant Glenn; Cora Delle, who married Zacariah R. Sistrunk; John L., who married Martha Dona Whatley; and twin daughters Ethel, who married Andrew Washington McDonald; and Esther, who married Felix Rogers Mays.
