Born in Garris, Boyd County, KY. the eldest son and first born of John Henry and Susan Evangeline "Eva" Mayhew-Harris. Husband of Ethel H. Rice-Harris and father of Oneita, John Jerome, Harlan Leo, Jackson Hillman, Garnet Mae, Geraldine, Charles Herbert, Robert Burns, William Donald and Samuel Houston. After Ethel passed away in 1947 Clarence then married Ella Lewis White in 1950 in Wayne County, WV. Clarence died at Holden, Logan County, WV.
