EVA BROWN
Zanesville, Eva Brown , 96, of Zanesville, OH. went to be with the Lord 11:42 pm Sunday, March 14, 2010 at Genesis Good Samaritan Campus.
She was born Tuesday, July 1, 1913 in Zanesville, OH the daughter of Grafton and Mary (Hamilton) Wakefield.
She was a member of Tree of Life Christian Fellowship and taught Sunday School there many years and a former member of Union Baptist Church and taught there for over 40 years and was also a deaconess. For many years she was a volunteer of Rufus Putnam School and a foster grandma at Careytown for many years.
Survivors include, five children, Mary Helen Palmer of Zanesville, Bonnie Jean Norris of Omaha, NE, Gordon Grant (Sherry) Brown of Zanesville, James Jeffrey (Debra) Brown of Zanesville, Stephen Bradly (Tricia) Brown of Zanesville; 14 grandchildren, Brian, Bruce & Carl Norris, Beverly Norris-Schmitt, Adrian McManhan, Stephanie Shaw, Crystal Brown, Kira Brown, James J. Brown II, Janell Mitchell Julia Brown, Mark Palmer, Amy Palmer, Marylynn Young, and numerous great grandchildren.
Preceded in death in addition to her parents, and her husband, Lemuel Grant Brown; a sister Helen Randolph; two brothers, Bob and Elsworth Wakefield.
Friends may call Thursday, March 18th from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Hillis and Hardwick Funeral Home, 935 Forest Ave. Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon Friday, March 19th at the Tree of Life Fellowship, 2220 Chandlersville Rd., with Pastor Thomas Hayes officiating. Burial Woodlawn Cemetery.
