Thirty-five men were buried in a pit about 1/2 mile south of Dr. Ballenger's house and 40 feet in the rear of the Union breastworks. Only three men were named, i.e., Captain Henry Barker, Sergt Sylvanus O Troxell, and Charles Shreeve, all of the 74th Illinois. The 74th Illinois reported 2 Officers and 15 men killed in action on June 27:
