She was picked up on the street by a Presbyterian minister by the name of Anderson; who gave her a home and treated her as his own child, until Feb. 23, 1857 when she was married to Martin Bookstore, with whom she lived a long and happy life, and who preceeded her across the river of death just a few days. The happy old couple made their home with their youngest daughter, Mrs. Steadman who lives in Judsonia, and were loved by all who knew them. Their desire was not to be seperated for very long which was gratified.
Mother Bookstore united with the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1861 and lived a constant member of the same until she was called home. Jesus was real to her and she tried to make him real to her friends. She was a devoted and loving companion and mother, such as sheds sunlight to this troublesome world. She leaves to mourn her loss six children and a host of friends. Mr. John Bookstore and Mrs. Lena Smith of Seward, Kans; Harold Bookstore of St. John, Kansas; Charles Bookstore of Haskell, Okla.; Mrs. May DeVoe and Mrs. Steadman of Judsonia, where she was so much loved. We extend our sympathy to all the bereaved
