Melvin H. Peck, 73, of Lower Oneida Street, died January 30, in Fox Memorial Hospital following a short illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 3, at the Hall Funeral Home, Stamford, with the Rev. Jack Clark of the West End Community Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Stamford Cemetery at a later date.
He was born June 24, 1888 at Harpersfield, the son of Albert M. and Elizabeth (Christian) Peck. He married Jennie Zeh, November 27, 1907, in Stamford. Mr. Peck lived the past 16 years in Oneonta and previously was a resident of Sidney Center and a 10 year resident of Worcester. He worked 14 years at the Scintilla plant in Sidney and prior to that lived in Stamford. He was a member at the West End Community Church.
Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Mrs. Joseph Kutschker, Mount Vision and Mrs. Gertrude Harvey, Sidney; three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Miller, Wells Bridge, Mrs. Nettie Tate, Delanson and Mrs. Burton Merwin Davenport; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces arid nephews. Friends may call at the Hall Funeral Home, Stamford, at their convenience.
