Elsie C. Eshleman, 92, of Gilman, IL, died at 11:08 P.M., Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at the Gilman Nursing Center in Gilman, IL.
Her funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 4, 2007 at the Zion United Church of Christ Gilman, IL with Rev.
Connie Williams Moodie officiating. Burial will be in the Ridgeland Township Cemetery, Thawville, IL.
Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 4, 2007 at the Zion United Church of Christ Gilman, IL. Memorials may be made to Zion United Church of Christ or Donor's Choice.

Elsie was born on May 17, 1915 on a farm west of Danforth to Ernest & Emelia (Krautter) Kreeb.
At the age of 4 her family moved to a farm northwest of Gilman.
She was confirmed at Zion Evangelical Church, Gilman in 1928, She graduated from Gilman High School in 1932.

Elsie married Lawson H. Eshleman on September 18, 1937 at the Zion Church in Gilman with Rev. Buchmueller officiating.
He died on April 30, 1993.

Surviving is one son - David &(Sandy) Eshleman of Onarga. He was born on March 23, 1946. Three grandchildren - Tammy &(Keith) McTaggart, Tonya &(Greg) Grills, and Tyler Eshleman all of Gilman. Two great granddaughters - Taylor Nicole and Olivia Marie McTaggart.
One brother - Stanley Kreeb and two sister-in-laws - Helen and Ruth Kreeb all of Gilman. Several Nieces and Nephews.

Pre-decedent - her parents, husband, three sisters - Hilda
Froehling, Mollie Reighel, and Bertha Strasma. One brother - Ervin Kreeb.

Elsie was a very active member in the Zion United Church of Christ in Gilman. She taught Sunday School and was superintendent for several years. She loved her church and served coffee fellowship hour for many years.
A member of the Womens Guild, and later the Women's Circle. Elsie also belonged to the Senior Citizens "Cut up Band" for five years.

Elsie and her husband lived on the Eshleman farm for three years following their marriage and then moved to the Reighel Farm until 1948. She and her husband then moved back to the Eshleman farm. They retired to Gilman in 1976 with 46 years of farming. She also worked at Bert Eshleman's Store in Thawville for three years and worked for the Gilman Nursing home for six years.
She enjoyed playing cards, going to and having garage sales, visiting with many friends, and helping people who needed help. Arrangements by the Redenius Funeral Home in Gilman, IL.
