Graveside services for Georgia Irene McPhail, 82, Tyler, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday at Rose Hill Cemetery with Johnny Anders officiating under direction of Burks-Walker-Tippit Funeral Home, Tyler. Mrs. McPhail died Sept. 28 in a Tyler nursing home. She was born Oct. 4, 1913, in Coolidge to the late Floyd and Lou Davis Sawyer. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone for many years and worked at Mother Frances Hospital taking calls after the New London School explosion. She retired from Tyler Petroleum Club in 1974 and was a member of Marvin Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, B.A. "Arch" McPhail, a brother, Alton Sawyer, and sister, Bertha A. Doop. Survivors include stepdaughters, Grace Dukes, San Antonio, Doris Erwin, Emerald Bay, and Eloise Walters, Covington, La; sister, Gladys Hill, San Angelo; brother,Floyd D. Buzz Sawyer.
