JUNCTION CITY-- Willis H. Beck, 80, of Junction City died Thursday, June 28, 1990 at a Fort Riley hospital.
Mr. Beck served 21 years in the Army, including service during WW II and the Korean war. He was in the Battle of the Bulge and was awarded the Purple Heart. He later served three duty tours in Germany, then served at Fort Riley from 1956 until he retired June 1, 1962, as a sergeant.
He was later a cook for Hanson Nursing Home in Junction City; then he and his wife managed the Homestead Motel until they retired in 1972. He was born Jan. 26, 1910, in Brownstown, Ind., the son of John A. and Flossie Weinenger Beck.
He married Elizabeth Lachermeier on Oct. 21, 1955, in Landstuhl, West Germany. She survives.
