Louis C Runte was three months old when his father Louis Runte, Sr. died. Louis was placed in the St. Vincent's Infants Asylum in Milwaukee were he spent his formative years. When his mother married George Bingham in the early 1900s, young Louis and his older sister Elizabeth were able to live with their mother and step father. Louis enlisted in the army in 1917 but was given a medical discharged later that year. He resumed his occupation as a painter.

On November 12, 1927, Louis was admitted to the U.S. National Home for Disabled Soldiers in Milwaukee, suffering from anemia and died there on November 20, 1927 from intestinal cancer. At the time of his death, he was 34 years old, stood 6' 3 1/2" tall and had brown eyes and dark brown hair.

He was survived by his mother Catherine Bingham, his wife Adele "Della" Segebarth Runte and his daughter Dorothy.
