Daughter of Izetta Gardiner and unknown father. Born in Cutler, Washington, Maine. Raised by foster parents, Sam and Belle Chaffee in Winslow, Maine. Moved to Gardiner, Maine in about 1930, then to Randolph, Maine in mid-1940s where she lived out her life. Was an excellent seamstress and a wonderful grandmother.
