Funeral for Madison Meigs Dunlap, 15, of Decatur will be Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Ninth Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Matt Nail and the Rev. Kenny Baskins officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing.
Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Madison, who died Monday, Aug. 18, 2008, at her residence, was born Sept. 30, 1992, in Decatur. She was a member of Ninth Street United Methodist Church.
Madison was a sophomore at Decatur High School and a member of the 2008 State Champ Soccer Team at Decatur High School. During the off season, she played with the Raptors, a traveling soccer team. She enjoyed sports and spending time with friends. She had a love of photography and a love for her family. She was employed at the Point Mallard Aquatic Center for her summer job. During this semester, she was really enjoying spending her time as an aide for the Decatur High Developmental students.
Survivors include her father, Mike Dunlap; her mother and stepfather, Terri and Tim Moore; and her grandparents, Jim and Aline Dunlap and Gloria and Tilden Dillard.
Pallbearers will be Jack Albert, Sam Albert, Jonathan Dunlap, Clint Dunlap, Scott Ellis and Chad Halbrooks.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends of Delano Park, P.O. Box 742, Decatur, AL 35602. Please put Madison's name on the check c/o The Universal Accessible Playground. Your donation is 501(c)(3) Tax Deductible.
