DEATH OF OSWEGO SOLDIERS

A member of the 24th Cavalry, under date of Nov 24th, writes to friends of one of the deceased in this city, informing them that the night previous, BENJAMIN LAROCK and JOSEPH BLAIR, both members of the 24th Cavalry, and formerly residents of this city, were killed. The body of the former will be sent home for interment. Both LAROCK and BLAIR were on picket duty when they met their death. It appears that a force of eighteen men were surprised by from seventy-five to one hundred rebels who demanded their surrender. This was refused, and the above named are included in the mortality score that followed. They are both represented as having been good and brave soldiers and their companions in arms sincerely mourn their loss.
