OBITUARY :
ETHEL MAE BUTLER NICHOLSON, 90, of Front Royal, formerly of Huntly, died on Thursday, January 18, 2007, in the Lynn Care Center.
She was born on January 29, 1916, in Madison County, Virginia, daughter of Charles and Florence Weakley Butler.
Mrs. Nicholson was the owner of a farm market and was a member of the Nethers Mill Pentecostal Church.
She was married to the late James L. Nicholson.
Surviving are two sons, James (Elvis) Nicholson of Front Royal and wife Shirley, and Russell L. Nicholson of Front Royal and wife Sheila; two daughters Doris N. Vest of Huntly and husband Grady, and Linda N. Sowers of Strasburg; eight grandchildren, Jim Nicholson and wife Linda, Danny Nicholson, Cathy Stead and husband Bill, Rusty Nicholson and wife Alice, Shane Nicholson and wife Melissa, Allen Vest and wife Kim, Renee Calisto and husband David, and Christal Werner and husband Mark; and 13 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was conducted on Saturday, January 20, at 3 p.m. in the Etlan Cemetery in Madison County, Virginia, conducted by the Rev. Steve Clindent.
The family received friends from noon - 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal.
