U.S. Veteran Wayne E. Good age 81 of Watseka formerly of Kentland died Friday, August 1, 2008 at his residence.
Born July 31, 1927 in Kentland to the late Carl Richard and Thelma Bennett Good. Mr. Good was a US Army Veteran of WWII serving from 1946 until 1947 and of the Korean War from 1950 until 1951 receiving a Korean Service Medal with 1 bronze star.
He married Martha Hendry on September 17, 1950 and she preceded him in death on July 30, 2006.
Mr. Good was the owner/operator of the Sheldon Illinois Dairy Queen for 18 years and after retirement he served as bartender in various organizations such as: Hazelden Country Club of Brook, American Legion Post 23 of Watseka and the Elks of Watseka.
He was a member of American Legion Post 23 of Watseka, Elks Lodge of Watseka, Knights of Pythias 51 of Lafayette, and the 40&8 of Fowler. He enjoyed traveling and coin collecting.
Survivors: brother, Gene (wife Mary) Good of Earl Park, Sister, Betty Castongia of Rensselaer Nieces and Nephews: Jill (husband Ken) Unger-Moder of West Lafayette, Mike Unger of Leesburg, GA, Doug Unger of Lake Mary, FL, Jeff Unger of Fowler, Roger Good of Oklahoma, Carola Jean Good of Kentland, Randy Thompson of Sheldon, Carola Lee Alberts of Kentland, and many others. Preceded in death by brothers Dean Good, Howard Good, and Darrell Good.
Funeral Services will be Monday, August 4, 2008 at 2:30PM(CST) with a visitation from 1PM(CST) until the service time with a Knights of Pythias and Elks Service all at the McMullan-Stitz Funeral Home, Kentland.
