D'Ette Kimberly "Tootie" Brawner, 48, of Madison died Thursday, July 31, 2008, at home.

She was born April 3, 1960, in Madison, the daughter of Leroy "Lee" Hockensmith and Betty Canfield Hockensmith. She was a hairstylist at The Hair Shak for nearly the last 10 years and worked at Hook's for 15 years before that. She attended Dupont Baptist Church as a child. She enjoyed gardening and crafting. She loved boating, especially at Dale Hollow, listening to music and collecting old movies.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Casey Brawner, whom she married Sept. 6, 2003; her father of Frankfort, Ky.; her mother of Madison; one sister, Lynette Tilley of Madison; three brothers, Kevin Hockensmith and Mark Overton, both of Madison, and Keith Overton of Milton, Ky.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Harry and Ines Canfield.

The funeral was at Lytle Funeral Chapel. Burial was in Springdale Cemetery.
