Heath A. Wagner, 10, Phoenix

On Monday, April 25, 2005, our Lord and Shepherd came from heaven to help Heath blow out his candle.
He was born on December 28, 1994, in Yakima, Washington to Roger and Jill Wagner, he came into this world as an angel from Heaven.

In the short time, Heath was able to spend on earth, he touched more hearts and visited more souls than most men will ever do. We were truly blessed with his strength, courage, and determination, but we will always admire and learn from his love and warm caring heart.

Heath was a true leader in the classroom as well as on the field of dreams. Heath loved his school and wanted to learn everything he could so that he could teach us all what he learned.

He participated in all forms of sports from soccer, wrestling, karate, swimming, basketball, and baseball, but his favorite was football.

Despite having had several operations since the age of 4 to remove a rare bone tumor on his foot, he never let that distract him. As a quarterback, he helped guide and direct his team to a winning record.

In November of 2004, just nearly one month before his 10th birthday, he was diagnosed with a brain stem tumor. Where most men will fall in the face of adversity, Heath gathered the strength to carry all of us on his shoulders. His wish of getting to see a live Super Bowl was given to him on Feb. 6, 2005.

He worked hard to finish the scholastic AIMES testing just a week before his Shepherd came to get his Angel and ascend unto Heaven.

Heath, you will always be missed but admired in the hearts of so many. Stay strong son, your work here is done; we all love you so very much.

Heath was preceded in death by his sister, Caitlyn, and left behind his brother, Deric; parents; grandparents, Leon and Lynda Swinehart and Roger Wagner Sr.; Uncle Eric and Aunt Heidi, Uncle Mike and Aunt Tracy; cousins Andrew and Sarah Swinehart and many other loving family members.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Phoenix Children's Hospital-Oncology Unit or The Make-A-Wish Foundation or Hospice of the Valley.
