GILMAN -- Visitation for Adam Christopher Houser, 17, of Streator, formerly of Gilman, will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Redenius Funeral Home in Gilman.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Church, Gilman. Rev. John Balluff will officiate.

Burial will be in Wenger Cemetery, Gilman.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Epilepsy Foundation.

Adam died Friday (Aug. 6, 2004) from injuries sustained in an auto accident near Streator.

He was born Sept. 18, 1986, in Watseka, the son of Denise Schriefer.

Surviving besides his mother of Streator, are his grandparents, Dennis and Jo Schriefer of Bradley, Helen and Gordon Ash and Cecil Pinkston, all of Gilman; great-grandmother, Avanell Finckbone of Gilman; aunts and uncles, Kim and Dave McIntyre of Gilman, Stacy and Todd Harweggar of Buckley, Kevin and Jeanette Crosby of Texas; three cousins, Whitney and Ryan Alvarez and Nick Harweggar; and his godmother, Sarah Bork of Onarga.

His grandmother, Shirley Schriefer; and great-grandparents, Roy and Genevieve Schriefer and Orville Finckbone, are deceased.

He attended schools in Gilman and Streator and was going into his senior year at Streator High School. He played football with the Iroquois West Youth League, baseball and basketball at St. Stephen's Jr. High School and football at Streator High School.

Adam was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Streator.
