Feb 17 1938, Thursday
Victoria Lovejoy, daughter of Luke and Martha Jane Lovejoy, and wife of Ivy E. Lovejoy, died Feb 6th, 1938, at her home at Spurlockville, at the age of 66 years, 5 months and 2 days, after an illness of long duration. She was married to Ivy E. Lovejoy March 4, 1890 and to this union 12 children were born, 9 of whom with the husband survive. Mrs. Lovejoy was a devoted Christian lady and had been a member of the M. E. Church for 17 years. Funeral services were conducted in the home by Revs W. T. Black, Ebb Cummings, Elijah Adkins and Kelley Hooser, and burial followed in the Lovejoy cemetery. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, and nine children: Clarence, Roy, Roma, Hallie and Otho, of Palermo; Mrs. Bessie Hooser, of Allen Mrs. Mary Hill, of Sias; Mrs. Grace Hooser, of Allen, and Mrs. Wanda Aldridge; 36 grand children, and 10 great grand children; 3 brothers, Cassie and N. W., of Palermo; Robt. Lovejoy, of Huntington, and two sisters Mrs. Laura Hill, of Palermo, and Mrs. Maud Cummings, of Sias.
