Son Of:
Allen Nelson
and
2nd Wife
Celia "Sibby" (Lovejoy) Nelson.

David Farmer "Farm" died in France during WWI.

As told by Brad Hager in 2009:
My father remembers attending this funeral when he was a boy because the Hager and the Nelson clans were friends. He says two soldiers showed up in uniform with rifles to do a ceremony and that there was a big turnout for that time. Of course, it took some time to recover the remains and ship them back to the US from France so it was a closed casket ceremony. To appease some family member they pried it open after the ceremony and he saw the remains. People were worn out with funerals because the Spanish Flu had killed so many people in the area but they came to this one anyway because "Farm" was a hero.
