The daughter of Francis Locke and Sarah (Alexander) Locke. Married Davidson Alexander on March 12, 1852 in Rowan, North Carolina. They were the parents of ten children: Mary F., Sallie, Louisa J., James Locke, Ebin, Mitera (spelling questionable), Dora C., Alice B., J. Marshall, and Sam P. She lived many years with her son (Sam) in Rockwall after her husband died.
