Julia Crystal Collier, 70, of Bill George Road, London, died Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at her home.The daughter of the late Luther Daniel Garland and Virgie Owens Garland, she was born June 27, 1938 in Laurel County, Ky. She was a member of East Salem Baptist Church and a homemaker by profession. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alfred W. Collier, her sister Beulah Miller, her grandchildren Christal Rene Collier and Kenny Wayne Collier, and her nephew Edward Bowling. She is survived by her sons Otis W. Collier, of Durham, N.C., and Kenny D. Collier, of London; her sister Georgia Bowling, of Carrollton, Ky.; her grandchildren Tonya Collier Keaton, of Durham, and Nikki Collier Wagers, of London; and her great-grandchildren Taylon, Kenzi, Kendall and Zach.Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at the funeral home's chapel, with Merle Owens and Jeff Maggard officiating. Burial is to follow at Old Salem Cemetery in London. Arrangements made through Bowling Funeral Home.
