Mrs. Ellen Riley Abert,71, wife of John Abert, of 38 George Street died last Thursday evening at 8:15 o'clock following several years of failing health due to neuritis and heart trouble. Since December her condition had been serious.
Mrs. Abert was born in the town of Louisville on February 27,1856, daughter of Plin and Sophia Wilson Riley. Her marriage took place in Massena December 22,1872, and until coming here to reside 20 years ago all her life was spent at Louisville.
Surviving besides her husband, are one daughter, Mrs. H.E. Cox, of Pittsburg,PA,who was unable to come here on account of illness; one son William Abert, of Massena; one sister, Miss Elizabeth Riley, of Massena; three brothers, Alonzo A.Riley, of Massena, Daniel Riley, of Edwards and Louis Riley of Ferfus Falls,Minn.; and two grandchildren, Mary Abert of Beverly Mass., and Hoyt Cox,Jr, of Pittsburgh.
