William J. Harman,son of John and Louisa Harman, was born in Franklin township, Darke County, OH, May 18, 1862, and died at his home two miles south of Painter Creek Church, May 31, 1915, aged 53 years and 13 days.
August 17,1884, he was united in marrige with Etta Devor, from which union there were eight children born, Susie, Fannie,Bonnie, John, Hanson, Francis and Katie, who are living, and Georgie, who died in infancy. Four of the children are married, and three still remain at home. Except a few years spent in Paulding County, he lived all his life near the place of his birth. He was respected as a neighbor and in the communities where he lived, as was attested by the large number who attended the funeral. As a father he was reverend, and as a husband he was true and devoted. He was for several years a member of the Church of he United Brethren in Christ.
He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, seven children, three grandchildren, his aged mother, who reared him from the tender age of three years; one full brother, two full sisters, two half-brothers and four half-sisters, besides many relatives and friends.
The funeral was conducted at the United Brethren Church Wednesday, June 2, by Rev. William Van Sickle, assisted by Rev. Royer. Interment in the Greenville Cemetery.
