RELLA J. ZEARFOSS, 85, of Weigelstown and formerly of Waynesboro, died Sunday, Sept. 6, 1998, in the Village at Sprenkle Drive in York.
Born Jan. 26, 1913, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Pearl (Snowberger) Byers.
She was the widow of Paul K. Zearfoss.
Mrs. Zearfoss was a former member of Zion United Methodist Church and its Sunshine Class.
She was former den mother in the Waynesboro area and a former assistant den mother in the Weigelstown area.
She was a member of Weigelstown bowling league.
She is survived by two sons, Paul F. Zearfoss of York and Barry E. Zearfoss of East Berlin; three daughters, Doloris J. Warner of Spring Grove, Phyllis L. Thorton of Seven Valleys and Barbara A. Markey of Joppa, Md.; 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mabel L. Kinley of Waynesboro and Lula "Sis" Worley of Burlington, N.C.
She was preceded in death by a sister Opal P. Forsythe and three brothers, David Byers, Percy Byers and Claude Byers.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Robert G. Koller Funeral Home Inc., York. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, York.
The family will receive friends from 7 t0 9 this evening in the funeral home.
