Ann Vista Brennan was born January 18, 1917, in Miles, Texas. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 1, 2008, at the age of 91 in El Paso. She was the daughter of Oliver E. and Mary E. May. Ann came to El Paso in 1932 where she met Henry Brennan. They were married December 2, 1933, in Las Cruces. During World War II while Henry was a Prisoner of War in the Philippines, Ann worked at Biggs Air Field in the warehouse in charge of the tool department. In 1944 she became manager of all the flying clothes and parachutes. She issued Clark Gable his flying clothes. In March, 1945, Henry returned after three years as a POW. After serving at various posts, Henry retired from the Army in 1952 and they returned to El Paso. Ann worked as a sewing instructor for Singer Sewing Machine Co. and for the Given Brothers clothing stores. She was chosen as "Woman of the Week" in 1961. Ann was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Ex Prisoners of War, The Disabled American Veterans and V.F.W. She attended the William Beaumont Chapel. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Henry Brennan, and brothers, Harvey C. May and Robert E. May. She is survived by a sister, Donna Sue Adams; two nephews, James H. May and Tom Brennan; and two nieces, Lyn Cote and Carolyn May. The family and friends thank the devoted staff at the Regent Care Center. Visitation from 5 to 7 pm Wed. 7/9/08 at Kaster-Maxon Futrell, 8817 Dyer. Graveside services will be conducted at the Fort Bliss National Cemetery on Thurs., 7/10/08 at 10 am, Chaplain Col. David R. Norvell officiating. Arrangements by Kaster-Maxon & Futrell Funeral Home at 8817 Dyer (915) 751-1287. Donations may be offered to the American Heart Association or The American Cancer Association.
