MARSHALL P. RUSSELL
ABERDEEN - Marshall Parker Russell, 77, died at his home near Jackson Springs Friday afternoon following a long illness. Funeral services will be conducted from the Taylor Memorial Baptist Church Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock by the Rev. J. C. McQueen, assisted by the Rev. Zeb A. Caudle of Aberdeen. Interment will be in the family plot in the church cemetery. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the funeral. Mr. Russell was born in Stanly County February 4, 1874. He moved to Moore County in 1918 and was an active citizen and churchman until his illness eight years ago. He was a farmer and a life deacon in the Taylor Memorial Baptist Church and for a long time was a leader for better schools for the community. He is survived by his wife, the former Nannie Mae Moose; four sons, Hubert C. Russell of near Jackson Springs, Herman Russell of Aberdeen, Ernest P. Russell of Dunn, and William A. Russell of Wilson; five daughters, Lela Russell, Mrs. E. H. Lowder, Mrs. M. A. Helms, all of Charlotte, Ruth Russell of Albemarle and Mrs. E. R. Thomas, Farmville; 22 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. O. A. Griffin, Albemarle, and Mrs. Ben Carpenter, Landis.
