GALENA BOY DIES AT CAMP IN GEORGIA
A telegram has been received from Oglathorpe, Ga., telling of the death of Ira D. Addy who was stationed there. The body will be brought to Galena.
Addy was the son of Mrs. Abbie Addy, 808 East Third street. The boy was home on a furlough just a few days ago and seemed in good health. He was well known in Galena having been caretaker of the city park here for the past two summers, giving up his work there to join the army.
With the death of our own Galena boys the realities of the war is pushed home to us with force. Addy leaves a widowed mother and two sisters.--Galena Evening Times.
