Born in Tabiona, Utah, the oldest of eight children, to Ervan Clegg and Ethel Ivie Clegg. He had to stop going to school during the Great Depression to help out his father on his farm. Lee joined the Navy. He married Daphene Spencer on October 5th, 1940. They only had one biological child, Spencer on April 16th, 1942. They had many foster children throughout the years, but they adopted two girls. Bonnie (February 5th, 1962) and Jane (February 20th, 1963).
After Daphene died in 1981, Lee remarried on May 2nd, 1982 to Theda Elaine Sanders. Lee died on March 11th, 2007 from old age.
He and Daphene are survived by their three children, as well as thirteen grandchildren, and twenty-five (and counting) great grandchildren.
