Gladys Reynolds Abbott, 84, of Belpre, OH died August 11, 2003 at the Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital. She was born December 6, 1918 in Dunham Township, OH a daughter of the late Addison Kingsbury Reynolds and Letha Wilhelm Reynolds Roach.

She attended Pleasant View United Methodist Church, for more than 60 years, where she taught Bible School and was Past-President of the Beatrice Circle. She was also a Gold Star Sister with the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by one son James W. Abbott and wife Sherlene of Belpre: one daughter, Mary Abbott Eakins and husband Ken of Mineral Wells; one sister Marjorie Wentz and husband John of Marietta; five grandchildren, Justin Abbott of Belpre, Ellen Snider Toncray of Belpre, Carl Snider of Canal Winchester, OH, Angie Eakins Zoller and Philip Eakins both of Mineral Wells and five great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband Wilbur F. Abbott; daughter Alice Abbott Snider; three sisters; Alice, Geneva and Bessie; and three brothers, George, Irving and Yon.

Services will be held Thursday 1:00 pm at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre with Reverend David Ellenwood officiating. Burial will follow at the Rockland Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 pm and Thursday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
