CHARLOTTESVILLE - Melissa Diane Taylor Day peacefully in her sleep slipped away to be with her Savior on Monday June 2, 2008.

Born in Charlottesville on November 16, 1969 she was the daughter of Roger L. and Patricia Goode Henry of Charlottesville. In addition to her parents she is survived by her maternal grand-mother, Thelma S. Goode of Charlottesville.

Her maternal grandfather Thomas J. Goode preceded her in death.

Melissa was a 1987 graduate of Charlottesville High School, the Martha Jefferson Hospital, CATEC School of Practical Nursing and the Danville Regional Medical Center School of Heath Professionals-Nursing Program-RN Degree. Her laugh was contagious and will forever be missed. Melissa also leaves her best friend since her days at Charlottesville High School Pam Davis, her Danville friends, Judy, Cat, and Sammy, who helped Melissa become a new Harley owner just recently, and her devoted canine companions, Angel, TJ and Casey, both living and passed.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday June 7, 2008 in the Teague Chapel with Pastor Randall Waller officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens.
